Richard Schrieber has composed bespoke tracks for Hollywood film trailers, including Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Men in Black III, and Byzantium, and is on the books of one of the worlds leading music supervisors, often called upon to write epic, heart-wrenching, electro-symphonic cues. Richards work in films has covered among others; dark, gritty soundscapes for British horror Truth or Dare, quirky orchestral music for comedy Aimless, and uplifting pop for dramatic short Quietus (starring Juliette Stevenson). Richard is currently booked to score a high profile Japanese film later this year. Richards tracks have been licensed around the world for TV shows including UFC, Got to Dance, and Catfish, and his library albums are in demand across many of the big TV networks (BBC, ITV, HBO, SKY etc.). Richard is renowned for his ability to produce the highest quality music to brief. Richard has written music for over 30 international clients, covering commercials, film advertising, feature films, TV and corporate films. For the London Olympics, Richard was asked to produce thenew track for Lloyds TSB with the English Session Orchestra at Angel studios, and for the second year running he has supplied the music and sound for International sports awards, Laureus (hosted by Morgan Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch).
Richards musical career began at the age of two when he gathered pots and pans and began composing his own music. This passion developed and manifested itself as the front man of several bands, one of which was produced byFeeder’s drummer Mark Richardson and Skunk Anansie’s guitarist, Ace. Richard has attained many performance qualifications including a distinction Diploma in Electric Guitar Performance at the ACM and numerous grades on Classical guitar, Piano and Violin. His performance career culminated in a gig with Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Richard then went on to achieve a BA (Hons) First Class in Music and Visual Art for his original and inspiring exploration of the linkbetween sound and video (which was shortlisted for the Glasgow Live Art Festival). During his time at university Richard studied Composition and Orchestration from a student of Sir Peter Maxwell Davis and played 2nd Violin at the University of Sussex Symphony Orchestra, which played in several venues around Europe.
Richards classical and contemporary training allow him to work comfortably in any given situation, whether it is working up a score for a conductor/orchestra or mocking up demos for Hollywood film trailers. Richard has an innate ability to compose, produce and deliver the finest quality music to his clients, and he loves every minute of it!
